I am in Anchorage, Alaska today (at the airport today atm) and I was wondering what to do? I'm going for a week on a very limited budget. Staying in a hostel. Was it just curious, what to do there with very little money.
There is much to do there, but not much, if you do not have much $ $ $. I lived in Anch for 20yrs and can tell you that this time of year everything is expensive. What I suggest you do is go downtown, there are always lots of things on the bottom to tourists. Regarding the accommodation is concerned, the best route to take if you're short of cash is a Bed & Breakfast.
For a tour of the city is fairly cheap or take a charter for some of the outlying areas. The State Fair started yesterday, but I am told, sad and wet and cold.
Good luck to you anyway, I sincerely hope that you can take advantage of being in the country of God.
Hey, how many times you get there. You must enjoy some of opportinities kayaking or climbing glaciers. Perhaps some of the places will be the end you are working on cost.
I hope this gives you time! Anchorage is the base camp for adventure. Step on a glacier, hike to a mountain vista, stroll scenic trails, sea kayaking, catches of wild salmon and trout corner from your hotel.
The Fair of the State of Alaska is in September. There will be many ongoing activities as well as big names performing. Enjoy!
