Avid Bb5

Posted on June 1, 2010.
Avid Bb5I recently bought a new bike that has Avid BB5 disc brakes, are they suppose to bend when I squese the lever?

When I squese the front brake lever, the front disc leans a little less when the pads are located, while my rear disc brake is always straight.

Help, should I get new brake pads?
Thank you

a large number of broken style disc just do .... sorry.

If its not more than one eighth of an inch or so I'd say you're good.

im not familiar with this particular configuration, but most are a way to change it and call or whatever.

If you are unsure about how to do this, your local bike show def have the expertise to do so.

Yes it is normal. Mechanical disc brakes work by moving the pad to the outside until the rotor deviates from the pad inside. Although it seems cheese, it seems to work.
