Car Wax Ingredients

Posted on June 23, 2010.
Car Wax IngredientsI need help with these issues.?

For biology that we do test corrections, and some things that I do not understand or do not remember. I accidentally left my notes at school so I do not have answers that are in my notes with me.

Umm ... These are the questions I need help:
- Why not describe a formula O molecule?
- What are the two parts of the microscope should never be used?
- Why the carboxyl and amino group, the two main groups of amino acids that are linked by a peptide bond?
- Sammy has a rare allergy to galactose. He is about to have breakfast, and he can not decide between a bowl of cereal with milk or a bowl of fresh strawberries with table sugar on them. What should be taken to avoid causing an allergic reaction, and why?
- Joe has a protein that he wants to do in two amino acids. What would you add to the protein to achieve, and what is it cause the rupture that happen?
- Hershey's Kissable Candies have carnuba wax listed as one of the ingredients. Carnauba wax is also a common car wax. Explain what the function of the wax is for both candy and car, and why it is used in each.
- Write the chemical equations for the formation of a disaccharide and break of a disaccharide, and the label the name of each process.
- Balance the following equations:
H2 + O2 = H20

NaClO 3 = NaCl + O2

O in the formula is oxygen, which is an atom or element. It is very reactive and will not be a stable molecule. In most circumstances, it will be O2, the oxygen gas (which is a molecule).

Microscope question: do not know, maybe the power button of course with the highest magnification?

Sammy: he must try strawberries with sugar. Galactose is present in dairy products, then it should not take milk. Table sugar is composed of sucrose (glucose + fructose); not galactose.

Joe: We must break the peptide bond between two amino acids. This link may be broken by amide hydrolysis, or in simple words, by adding water. This is an extremely slow process, so if he wants to accelerate, it might want to add a protease (an enzyme that breaks peptide bonds) which will work much faster.

carnauba wax gives a glossy finish, which will be very pleasant on both a car and candy.

Formation of the disaccharide is called condensation, or dehydration (not sure of the name you've learned in class).

2 H2 + O2 = 2 H2O 1

2 NaClO 3 = 2 NaCl + 3 O2

Hope that was helpful!
