What is the best Michelin or Goodyear Assurance TripleTred HydroEdge? I live in upstate New York. I need a solid all season tires (I do not get snow tires, do not count) that can process a mix of weather conditions, including dry roads, heavy rains and in winter, have good traction on snow and ice (I try to avoid driving in the snow and ice, but it's hard to avoid). I like both and HydroEdge TripleTred but I'm not sure what is the best tire and what is the best tire in the snow / ice.
I was not impressed by the HydroEdge in the snow. The first series I've ever installed I took a test drive (Honda minivan) because there was about an inch of snow on the ground this morning as it was a great chance to try them. The Michelin were sliding everywhere and traction control and ABS kicks in. I get to drive just about every type of tire it is and I must say that I was Underwhelmed by Michelin, expecially how they account cost. A phenomenal rain tire, worn like iron shoes and like all the Michelin, it is quiet and smooth riding - I do not like them for the winter.
The Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread, on the other hand has a great reputation for overall performance winter, when new and I was quite impressed with this tire. Definitely the best product out Goodyear for years.
This is a question not brainier ... Michelin is much better than Goodyear. Would say both are good in snow and ice.
Condemned are higher .... I like Michelin seem like they last longer, but both are very good tires ..... if it's your choice really cannot go wrong with either
