Ama Dablam Expedition (30 days) List of our expeditions in Nepal and Tibet
An expedition to Amadablam is technically difficult and all ice, rock, scrambling, killer views, great approach and good base camp in a meadow with a creek. The expedition offers a superb technical climbing experience in the heart of the Khumbu region just above the monastery Thayanboche on the way to Everest Base Camp. From the summit, the six highest peaks in the world are clearly visible five highest peaks of Mount Lhotse, Lhotse Shar Mt, Mt Makalu, Mt. Cho - Oyu, and Mt. See Everest, and also near the Nuptse, and Baruntse Pumari. Since his ascent in 1961 by a team Anglo American / New Zealand, it has often been mounted and by many different routes.
Our ascent will be made through conventional SW ridge, which implies a pure rock climbing. The final section involves the top ice climbing followed by a steep snow slope along. Due to the technical nature of the road, which requires 3500 m of fixed ropes and three camps above base camp. Normally, the ascent is completed in less than four weeks. However, we do build in a few extra days in case of unexpected bad weather.
