I have a Lowrance X96 fishfinder. Why I do not get good fish arches? I know there are fish here that I catch them! I adjusted the transducer at all angles. Can anyone help?
Sometimes if there is a lot of mud or weeds in the lake fish finder goes wacko???? other wise maybe its broken.
A very important that has not been touched in answering the above is the position of the probe ... You must make sure it is level, have not pointed down or up. A common mistake made by anglers is that the point in thinking that the end of the probe that emits sonar, its actually the bottom of the sensor .. if you want to mount it at an angle of 90 degrees to the hull of the boat .... it will be flat in the water. If this is not the case, you will not get true arcs.
are you not all arcs or intermittent signals?
if no arc at all, then the fault of the machine. Back to Lowrance. or visiting, new website for FAQs, and assistive technology.
if intermittent sound could be the area where you fish or location of the transducer. if the trans. is too near the propeller, which then interferes with the signal if no amount of adjustment will help.
I still catch fish in the absence of the arches are there, just that the fish are hiding in the grass and sonar captures only the most dense mass that is the weed, not the fish.
as previous answer, keep the parallel trans to the waterline not poking up and down.
check its not too near the prop. if it is to move and fill the screw holes in fiberglass or caulk wih
