Maxxim 17in wheels - says shady Mech. it cannot delete my wheels b / c it needs key - What? I bought a car with alloy wheels already on them. Do not even dream of mine to see if they needed keys. Never even crossed my mind. Now I have a Deer Run in - I lost - and if my car was at the mechanic of 20 years, more experience in what he says ... kept my car 28 days and apparently was going to change right wheels bad, make a "laser" and inspection allignment NY anythingg the car to another that would have broken, etc. - 35 minutes before he told the company to car insurance would be ready.
Clearly, this guy is a liar and a bit of life - my insurance papers said I had 30 days of rental, so he kept it to do nothing for three weeks. Yesterday, he painted the fenders, bumpers - and then today I received a call saying he wouldnt be able to pass the inspection or the rear wheels at the front because it cannot get off the wheel - Where is the key he asks me.
I told him to get him out and we would deal with him and his "work" later.
I am now when they are closed - I look at my wheel - I remove the little cap inside and it doesn't look like a lock in place for me?
I can get the 4 wheel nuts - it seems a stripped - and the center is a bolt with a small hole in it - a small circle that will perhaps one sixth of an inch.
is supposed to be the "keyhole"? I do not understand.
Look at me this great thing is it rusty and if I take a big key with me would have never started.
They are 17 inches of Maxxim wheels painted. cxant seem to find the exact Maxxim anywhwere online or to get the key or to see if there still need a key.
I have just one.) Do not believe anything this guy says well, then maybe he just knew he could not finish this in 35 minutes he allotted - I mean this is the first time He even looked at the tire? How did he inspect the accident area, then? Obviously he didn't.
and
2.) He said he had no way to remove withoput key. when I know it's a problem they can solve the problem! they can break the lock - in many ways witrhout damage the wheel, it is autonomous, righjt?
I mean I'm not the only guy not to have a key for the alloys. and if their wheel and The Body Shop has in fact been open 20 years, he said - no way I'm the first guy to have this problem, as he claimed on the phone.
Am I right or am I missing here sometyhing?
appreciqate anyone help - I read some other peoples stories key, but a cute circle hole the same diameter and exit, even resemble a key alloy wheel?
then what is behind this huge bolt bolt even with the small hole ... if yopu like rem, Ove the bolt comes loose. I think he just didn't want to deal with him more - the insurance check which should have already come in. In fact, he befiore two weeks. So why care?
(Freeman Road Stadium, NY Monroe by the way - never go. I could go on - it was the abridged version!)
Yeah the thing about the responses on here, you gota make your answer simple questions ..
What I think your mechanic is talking about one of your wheel nuts is a nut.
Whoever bought the locknuts he came with his own key attached to remove the nut,
This is to prevent the wheel rims being stolen, or anything to be altered.
Damage will be done to force the nut off .. or find the key to key.
you have few options: 1) Most Nissan dealers in this case when you have your car (equipped with oil change, tire rotation, etc.) a wide range of care almost all popular wheel lug nut socket withdrawal 2) you can go to Sears to the section tool or maybe your auto parts store and purchase a set of SPECIAL key (s) that allow you to remove the bolts that are damaged / stripped .
