Off Road Motorcycle Helmets

Posted on June 17, 2010.
Off Road Motorcycle HelmetsWhy motorcycle helmets, street helmets different from that road?

I ride a motorcycle off road enduro / and want to use headphones in the street instead of a helmet-type road, but I wonder if there are security or technical reasons that I should be aware of.

Please post in the motorcycle category ... This is by bike, as bike

All helmets are rated as DOT or Snell. A helmet will provide a similar note similar protection. The biggest difference is that off-road helmets are evacuated because, in theory, you spend a lot of time and work will slow down a little exercise. aerodynamic helmets on the road are because they are supposed to be used at high speeds. Most offer very poor ventilation at low speed. Road helmets are often heavier too.

If you are riding your endurance mainly on dirt roads, then a road helmet should work correctly.

I do not think there is a significant difference in safety, as it is DOT approved, its fine. Street helmets have face shields on them to disseminate all the wind blowing on your face, because you usually travel much faster on the road. I think the off-road style helmets mX look better than most helmets, unless you pay big $ $ $ for a soft cover is BMW like this:
