Practice Management for Dentists, Develop a unique selling proposition Every day we receive dozens of calls from dentists all over the United States for advice. We get different questions ranging from "When my next postcard?" To "What are the benefits of patient newsletter?" and everything else.
Recently, we encountered a tendency for issues such as: "How do I develop a Unique Selling Proposition?
For those of you who do not know, a Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is that something that makes you different or unique from all others in your profession. It is the product of dentistry, and gives you the advantage that the dentist next door does not.
Ask yourself: "What must I do to make me different from the dentist next door?"
If you say you are good and gentle, said nothing, 99% of the dentists I talk to one day give the same answer.
That said, there are 3 ways to differentiate yourself from your competitors.
1. Stop copying what others are doing!
This is a trend in dentistry that needs to stop. Of course, there are services out there that everyone will, but there are options that will make you better. If you say, "I'll wait and see what all the world, and I'll play." It is too late. Everyone will outdo (and patients).
2. Being the best at your profession (dentistry).
Do not 10% or better. Have the best equipment, the office cleaner, nicest staff, and make the best dentistry possible to every patient. Do not worry new innovation, just perfect size, perfect dentistry.
3. Do something different.
What if you were not the "single window" for dentistry, but only trim available? The best filling, made by a specialist filling. Do not be someone who dabbles in dental fillings, be the expert. Composite, front, rear, top, bottom. Everything about them, and you will soon become the expert filling. It sounds crazy, but there are other options: finance each patient, giving a car, the sky is the limit.
Three ways, all extreme or tame depending on how you take it. If you want the same results, money, and recognition that everyone, go ahead and be like them. If you want more money, more recognition, and better results, then, be different.
Action Item Tip: Take a few minutes of your hectic day, sit down with a piece of paper and a pen and write down all the things you think are your major practice. Once you have compiled a list clear, look and find ways to make everything better. If only two or three of your improvements are to be possible, while two or three things that distinguish you from the rest.
