Valve Cover Gasket

Posted on June 13, 2010.
Valve Cover GasketShould I replace my valve cover gasket?

My car (2001 Ford Focus) is in the shop right now and the mechanic said I need to replace the valve cover gasket. The oil level is good, so I know it is not leaking that much, and I have not had any blue smoke or burning smell.

Is this something I should do now? I do not take advantage of something that is never going to become a serious problem, but it is certainly not something that I am in my place.

Thank you!

a valve cover gasket set a maximum cost of $ 40 to a local auto parts begin ... Thats the valve cover and grommets ... I did mine and it should be done with more tune up.

Absolutelyh. If you're an oil leak on the valve cover, you can easily soften the timing belt. When that breaks, you're screwed.

If it's not like one or a little oil I do not care now look to replace the engineer tries to take advantage of the situation.
