Has anyone experienced lower gas mileage after using the Valvoline fuel injector 3 step cleaning system? I just got this and I now get horrible gas mileage.
I get 20.4 mpg AVG when I used to get 24.9 with "a ton of carbon build-up." This is what the guys told me when I went to just get a change Regular oil - "You have a ton of carbon accumulated in your throttle body."
Now, my RPM meter is a little jumpy and sometimes idling at 1500 RPM too. What does this mean?
I was told that the combustion of carbon would have damaged my sensors. Anyone have a similar experience?
I think the most important question is, is the Valvonline station responsible for the damage? Thank you to everyone who answers.
cleaners are so harsh they can damage the sensors, the best thing you could do was to have your injectors professionally cleaned and removed. Usually, these cleaners affect your MAF sensor and your O2 sensor if one is damaged, it will affect your fuel system resulting from poor idle, low MPG and engine efficiency. The only person responsible for damages is, unless you didn't authorized the procedure.
Your computer must reset. My brother Sentra 2.5L SER-tech 5 engine had the same problem and his Valvoline reimburst Nissan dealer for the cost. Some computers can be reset by unhooking the battery for eight hours as well. It is getting better mileage and performance now ... Flag
