Windshield Wax

Posted on May 27, 2010.
Windshield WaxHow do I remove wax my windshield of my car?

I just had my vehicle repaired at a body shop and they detailed it got wax on my windshield. I called and they told me to use glass cleaner. It does not work. I also heard that dish soap will work, but it has not done a very good job. If anyone knows what will work, I appreciate it. Thank you.

Use a degreaser. The stores sell a car wax and tar remover that you spray on cleaner like glass. Try it. It is cheap and works. Kerosene is also good if you are careful, but water with soap and water right away. rubbing alcohol will do the same Planina. But attention to painting. Apply it on a cloth and when you're finished, wash the car with soap. Question, why is the Body Shop does not clean the wax?? Or tell them to give you the tricks they use to remove it. Good Luck.

Scrape it with a razor blade.

The best stuff is used or Varsol Menthey hydrate. Could be found at your local hardware store or paint shop (residential / commercial)
Pour a little on a rag and wipe the glass, and you will see the chance of magic .. Good

I scraped with a razor blade.
You can also try to fuse it with a hairdryer (or simply let the sun) and try to wipe when it is softer.

a razor blade works. or you can warm up. do not know how you could do on a car, I know that you can place a paper towel over the wax, run a hot iron over the paper towel and absorb the wax. but I think on a windshield I would go with a razor blade.

wax off ....... it is a cosmetic, but it works with all waxes

go to the hardware store and get a bag of 000 steel wool and rub the windshield in his fall, he will wax.

Ask Mr. Miag wax on wax:)

Just kidding, you should get a little warm water and dish soap and rub it and then use Windex to clean it then get off any residue streaks.

Soap Dish break the fat and oil-based materials and oils. Make sure the water is warm or hot water to make it work better.

Take ice. Allow to freeze and scrape off with a razor blade.Be very careful not to scratch the glass.
