I can not find a motorcycle helmet that fits properly full. Help.? I have been 6 motorcycle shops, I tried on all brands HJC, KBC, Arai, Shoei, and more to ZAMP. Most shops have the same limited supply of helmets and very little to try for size. I want to try a helmet SCORPIO but nobody sells them in my city. Even vendors say helmets do not match. I found an open face helmet like, but everyone seems to think that I need a helmet. To tell you the truth, I feel like half of my senses are left with a face full on. I hear nothing and I do not think I can see well either. I am sure that the entire front is safer to impact, but maybe I could avoid an accident if I could better see and hear better. Any thoughts on this subject or any ideas for helmets to try? And no ... I do not have a square head. :)
If your head is as big as mine, I had to order a helmet 2x just to get an adjustment to the right.
This is by far not the best answer. Report Abuse
If you feel happier with an open face helmet that is what you should buy. It does not matter what others think because you are the person who wears it.
One of these stores should be able to order a scorpion for you to try. If it does not fit, they can simply return. My girlfriend went through this process with Cycle Gear. They ordered six in total and sent five to the manufacturer because it did not good. In addition, it takes a little getting used to the helmet. They feel tight face at first, but once they mold to your face sorta they get more comfortable. I stick to the full face but ... I've seen some pretty nasty pictures of victims who have been totally absent from their jaw ...
All brand new helmets will be tight at first. The upholstery is new and much stronger than it will be after he has "molded" to the head. Most helmet manufacturers will have a recommended size for a measure certain size. Check with each manufacturer, they should have a change table size / available. He must feel comfortable, without being "tight" and if you turn the side of the head sideways, it should not "drag" in both directions - it must remain sealed to the head.
Regarding the helmet three quarters, or half-helmet?? increased wind noise dramatically with smaller headsets. 3 / 4 helmets are better hear what is happening around you, but you have a better chance of damage to the face, if you happen to land on your face. Half helmets have much wind noise, but you can learn more about you, at slow speeds - at higher speeds for most everything you hear is the wind.
Some things to think ...
Good luck!
I had the same problem, no helmet would fit firm and comfortable. I finally found my helmet after 10mths Nolan present an X-LITE and love. More to give it a go I think. Good luck.
I can tell by your avatar you're a pumpkin head like me: in fact, you could be my older brother, uglier ....
Many Asian brands do not fit with the pumpkin heads: try AGV or trademarks in euros.
Some shopping sites will show you how to measure your head to get an idea of the size.
I have the same problem, Search brainbuckets made in Europe is not China. Took two years of research, but I finally found a full front flip Nolan that fits right. My problem is a thorough knowledge bump "on the back of my head, not to mention a big head. A helmet rubbing on the bump is not noticeable for the first half hour or so after-pure misery. I also found that the helmet can be tailored by lifting the mucosa and forensic use of sandpaper on the foam crowded place. I know not.
